July 15 2019 Today everyone woke up early, well most of us because we are getting better at it and faster. We were all ready before 7:15 am. Because I was ready I had breakfast …. I usually don’t eat in the morning but I felt good today - but I’m not a morning person. So that’s why I was happy we went to a marsh with Trent and Tom, fish biologists. We pulled the invasive weeds out of the marsh. Maria and Jenedi fell into the water while they were trying to pull the weeds and some of them got stuck in the mud. We pulled the weeds so we can help the other plants grow. I like it because it was fun to do and because I have not done it before. In the afternoon, we met with Pete powers who is a forest manger and we went to the forest and cut trees for 3 hours. We cut trees because we needed to aspen to grow. We cut pine trees and white fir. Then we went to safeway for some stuff like food and whatever else we needed, and then we drove back to camp.

July 14 2019 Today I woke up and I was super tired and in pain because my neck was hurting also my legs, but I had to get thru it. We walked 3 miles in downtown Bend, OR. It was hot but my feet were not hurting at all this time. After the hike we went to Jessica’s friend’s house and had hamburgers and brawts. I finally got Wi-Fi which I was happy because I also got to finish my blogs yesterday and today. I’m proud of myself because I’ve been busy with camp or I was not feeling up to blogging. This is why I’m proud and I’m just hoping to get thru the rest of the week because I am tired.

July 17 2019 Today we woke up around 7 am and got ready to go with Alex Gonyaw to different places. The first place was the Klamath Tribe’s research station. We got to see the lost river sucker and short nose sucker also long nose sucker and why we were learning about them was because they are endangered species. Why is because their water has algae blooms. We did a walk on a trail to a dam that they are trying to get rid of. There are four dams they are going to remove. Tonight is our last night here in Klamath which I am sad about. I felt good about listening to Jeff Mitchell from the Klamath Tribe. He is an elder.

7/9/19 Yesterday after we got back from Potato Hill and we got done with our flower pressings we went back to camp and got our clothes ready for the showers. The showers were very cold but I need to be all clean because I didn’t feel like being all dirty for like 2 or 3 days. But I got use to it of course and I felt so good. After that then we had dinner, but before dinner me and my cousin went into the tent and laid down and went to sleep for a bit. Then we were laughing because we was playing games on our phones and we kept dying and I got first place but not for killing people. That is the only thing that sucked about the game. We had circle and we was talking about the huckleberries how they are not growing and why they are gone before we pick unless people are over picking. When we went up to Potato Hill the berries were already growing but they are still green. I’m hoping when we go up there with the school on the second day that there will be berries, if not then I’m not g

7/7/19 We woke up at 6:30am then got ready for breakfast. We have chores and we rotate every breakfast and dinner. My first chore started the night before, I had to help cook dinner, which was spaghetti. I then rotated my chore this morning to dishwasher. After breakfast and everyone is finished with their chores, we got into three separate groups and got everything ready for the trail cams. My group was called Jere Bears and we had to decide where we should put our trail cams to see what animals we can get. Then we will collect the trail cams on Tuesday before we leave. From two to five we helped the Camp Chaparral people clean up pine needles and move classroom supplies from storage. We ended up doing “Peach and Pit”, this is where we share good/bad thing from our day. I didn’t feel like doing it because all of us mostly did the same things and everyone was saying the same thing for the good and bad. I’m glad that we got to go to sleep at 9:16pm instead of 10 or

7/6/19 On our way to the camp cite, Chaparral Campground, we seen a brown bear, I was happy to finally see a bear, it has been awhile. We went to Castile Falls and it was nice and clear, but also scary. Then we were on our way to the Klickitat river and these dogs charged at me. The Klickitat river was cold, I slipped off of the log and I hurt my leg from one of the nobs or sticks on the log. My friend did a star fish flop and that was funny. I got happy because when we went back to the camp cite and seen the rest of our group we set up our tents. It was hard setting up the tents because I never knew how to. After we set up camp we had dinner. I was starving, because Heritage students took a long time to get to camp site. After dinner we had S’mores, told stories and introduced ourselves. We finally went to bed around 11 pm. It was a long first day.
